Ryanair has signed a major five-year cloud and artificial intelligence (AI) partnership with Google Cloud, adding a dual-cloud strategy alongside its existing infrastructure to support its massive growth targets.

The key elements of the deal highlight that Ryanair will integrate Google's Gemini AI tools and DeepMind models such as AlphaEvolve and WeatherNext across its operations.

These models will assist with fleet operations, maintenance scheduling, and real-time decision-making.

As reported, the Europe's largest airline by passenger numbers plans to use Gemini Enterprise to build custom AI agents designed to automate routine processes, streamline crew scheduling, and mitigate travel disruptions.

As part of the roll out, Alphabet’s Google Workspace and Google Cloud services will be deployed to 35,000 employees across Ryanair’s entire network to boost internal productivity and collaboration.

Using Gemini Enterprise, the airline aims to build custom AI agents to automate decision-making processes and optimize crew scheduling for its tens of thousands of staff.

This new agreement complements Ryanair's existing cloud infrastructure such as its long-term partnership with Amazon Web Services.

The airline says moving to a dual-cloud model minimizes technology outage risks and provides higher infrastructure resilience.

The tech expansion supports Ryanair’s long-term goal of scaling its operations to carry 300 million passengers annually by 2034 while keeping operating costs low to protect its ultra-low-cost carrier business model.
