KARACHI:

Gold and silver prices in Pakistan declined on Thursday following a fall in global bullion rates. In the international market, gold fell by $23 per ounce to $4,305, weighing on domestic prices.

According to the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA), the price of gold per tola fell by Rs2,300 to Rs452,936, while the price of 10 grams of gold declined by Rs2,070 to Rs387,615.

Similarly, the international silver price fell by $1.44 per ounce to $68.80 per ounce.

As a result, the price of silver in local bullion markets declined by Rs144 per tola to Rs7,359, while the price of 10 grams of silver fell by Rs123 to Rs6,268.

On Wednesday, gold prices in Pakistan rose, following an increase in the international market. In the local market, the price of gold per tola reached Rs455,236 after gaining Rs100 during the day.

Likewise, 10-gram gold was priced at Rs389,685, up Rs85, according to rates released by the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association.

On Tuesday, the association did not announce gold and silver rates after calling for a protest against alleged raids on jewellery shops.

On Monday, the price of gold per tola had climbed to Rs455,136 following a sharp increase of Rs10,800. Internationally, gold rose by $1 to $4,328 per ounce. Meanwhile, silver prices dropped by Rs6 to Rs7,503 per tola.
