KARACHI:

Gold and silver prices fell sharply in global and local markets on Saturday. In the international bullion market, gold fell by $151 per ounce to $4,454.

According to the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA), in the local market, the price of gold decreased by Rs15,100 per tola to Rs467,936. The price of 10 grams of gold also declined by Rs12,946 to Rs401,178.

Meanwhile, the price of silver fell by Rs397 per tola to Rs7,112. The price of 10 grams of silver also decreased by Rs340 to Rs6,096.

On Friday, gold prices remained unchanged in the local market, with the APGJSA quoting 24-karat gold at Rs483,036 per tola. The price of 10 grams of gold also remained unchanged at Rs414,125.

On Thursday, gold fell by Rs3,500 per tola to Rs483,036 and by Rs3,001 per 10 grams to Rs414,125, while silver rose by Rs50 per tola to Rs7,329 and by Rs43 per 10 grams to Rs6,283, according to APGJSA.

On Wednesday, the gold market was closed due to the public holiday marking Eid Miladun-Nabi

On Tuesday, the price of gold per tola closed at Rs486,536 after a decline of Rs600. 10 grams of gold was quoted at Rs417,126, down Rs514, according to rates shared by the APGJSA.

On Monday, according to the APGJSA, the price of 24-carat gold per tola reached Rs487,136 after gaining Rs4,200. Ten-gram gold was quoted at Rs417,640, up Rs3,601.
